The Civil Service Fast Stream are developing their assessment processes and need volunteers to test them out over the summer. This is a great opportunity to go through a practice assessment centre and get paid £45 plus travel expenses for your time – but the closing date for applications is 18th July.
Fast Stream is the entry point for policy makers in all areas of the UK Civil Service, and is a scheme ideally suited to postgraduates who want to make a real difference to the way the country is run (for more info, see previous post on the Civil Service Fast Stream).
There are several restrictions on who they’re looking for :
- must be a UK national whose first language is English
- must have a 2:1 (or be expecting one, for any undergrads who’ve chanced upon this blog)
- be prepared to take the tests seriously and view them as confidential
- NOT be planning to apply to the Civil Service Fast Stream for 2009 entry. This means that if you do want to apply for Fast Stream, it’s more suited to someone with ideally a couple of years of postgraduate study still to go (you need to apply for jobs on the Fast Stream in Autumn, a year in advance of when you want to start work – go on, work it out, you’re smart people … and if you want to run the country, this shouldn’t be beyond you)
There are several dates available – 11-15th and 18th August. For an application form, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and get your application in before 18th July.
