Here are a few more vacancies which might be of interest to postgrads :
First a couple of glass related ones:
- Curator of European Glass, Corning Museum, New York State – this has been advertised for a while, with no closing date, but it’s still on the museum website so looks like it’s still open (but get a move on if you’re interested). Looking for a Masters or PhD in Art History. Specialist knowledge of European decorative arts required and working knowledge of French and German preferred.
- Advanced Technologist, Pilkington – working on advanced coatings, willingness to travel abroad/speak another language would be an advantage. Asks for a minimum of a 2:1 in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science, but if you’ve been reading the blog from the beginning, you’ll remember that Dr Neil McSporran came to the autumn recruitment fair representing Pilkington, and encouraged other postgrads to apply (closing date 15/6).
- Sustainability Researcher, Corus – working as part of a team looking at Life Cycle Assessment. Asking for a PhD or Masters in a technical or analytical discipline, with a broad understanding of sustainability/environmental issues, and a driving licence and passport, so travel must be involved (closing date is 23/5).
(Note : There are occasional glitches when we code our vacancies – when I was searching the site for interesting vacancies, I was amused to spot this one coming up under “International” … it’s in Rotheram – maybe that’s why you need a passport)
- Research Consultant, Manchester & London – dealing with economic development and regeneration, this asks for a degree in economics, geography or a related discipline, but adds that a second degree and/or work experience in an economic development setting is preferable (closing date 30/5)
